The Club will be holding a driver training day at Lakeside Park Raceway on Saturday May 30 .

Driver training is very important for all owners not just for some experience on a track, but also to teach safety on the roads we always enjoy.

The morning will be spent on the Driver Training Centre track with it's rises and falls and left and right hand curves much like driving on narrow country roads. This will test drivers ability around tight corners, awareness of sudden emergency stops and avoiding slides on wet roads (on the skid pan).

There will be a bbq lunch at the Pit Stop cafe at the main track.

After the lunch stop we will conduct a briefing highlighting the vagaries of the circuit and provide on track training which will entail somewhat faster driving around the tight bends and curves of the circuit, including braking points and corner apex positions.

There will be experienced member instructors leading separate groups and who will also be available in your car or their cars to show you the correct lines of the track at speeds of up to no more than 75% of race speeds (similar to happy laps). There will be no timing on the circuit.

Cost for the day will be $200 per car (which can be shared so joint members both get tuition plus a licence fee of $10 for those who do not already hold a Racers Licence. That cost is set regardless of the number of members attending however we would like to limit number to about 40 to give every member good track tuition time.

Lakeside Raceway Management through our long term relationship, are providing the event at very generous pricing as a Saturday event would normally command a $500 fee, dependent on 40 members attending.

Bring a morning and afternoon tea - BBQ lunch will be provided for an extra $10 pp, paid on the day.

As the event is in less than 3 weeks time, please register for the event ASAP in the same way as club social runs. Final details and regulations will be sent prior to the event.
