Looks like Tony & Lidwina Wheeler have planned a great run for us on Sun, 01 Jun 25...and their advice is that the country is looking picture perfect. The first leg is from Pomona to Gunalda (about 1.5 hours) and the second is from Gunalda to Kandanga (about 1hr 10mins).
Assemble at 08:30am for 09:00am run start.
Morning tea is available for purchase at the United Fuels servo at Gunalda - or BYO.
Lunch is at the Kandanga Hotel - booked for 12:30pm.
Message from the run planners:
We are Tony and Lidwina from Maryborough. We are newbies and have only done 3 runs so far with the Sunshine Coast Chapter, but we are enjoying the runs and the company.
We have set a lot of this run in the southern part of our back yard. We love it. The course will start close to the Sunny Coast at Pomona. The road to Gunalda is a gem, with only about 2km of main highway black top. From Gunalda we’ll go on some great rural roads to our lunch stop in rural Kandanga in the beautiful Mary Valley. We stopped by Kandanga Pub last week, and if the lunch crowd is an indication, we won’t be disappointed.
For the drivers, there’s a variety of roads on the course, ranging from twisties to rural roads with sweepers. The navigators will get to enjoy some of the best scenery that SEQ has to offer at this time of the year. Green, green, green!
So please come in droves and support us and the Club by registering. See you on Memorial Avenue in Pomona.
Cheers, Tony and Lidwina
