We will be winding our way from Pioneer Park at Landsborough to a midway point and U-turn near the infamous Jimna Fire Tower.
The Jimna fire tower is the tallest of its type in the southern hemisphere. It was built over a 3-year period from 1974–1977. It was heritage-listed in 2000. The forestry resource is now owned by a US-based investment company as it was sold by the QLD Government several years ago.
Visiting the fire tower is optional as it involves approximately 1km of dirt road.
From Jimna we will retrace our route to Kilcoy then via back roads to Woodford Tavern where you can enjoy a wood-fired pizza.
Meetup will be 8:00am for 8:30am run departure. Lunch will be from 12:30.
